Komaba Research Campus Japanese Language Courses are offered by the Center for Japanese Language Education of the University of Tokyo for those who wish to learn Japanese while undertaking research activities.
It is held twice a year, in the Spring term (April -July) and the Autumn term (October-January).

*The timetable will change to twice a week for each class this term.

Class	Description
Level 1 （Elementary）	To study and practice sentence patterns and vocabulary of lower elementary level
Level 2 （Upper- Elementary）	To study and practice sentence patterns and vocabulary of upper elementary level
Level pre3 （Elementary to Intermediate）	To enhance overall Japanese, including listening and reading comprehension for learners who have finished elementary textbooks.

* For (1) mentioned above, submit a copy of the applicant's spouse's ID card or Certificate of Enrollment issued by UTokyo.

Note

・　Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis until the class becomes full.
・　No application will be accepted after the application period.
・　No application via e-mail will be accepted. If you are out of campus during the application period, a representative in your lab can apply for you. Please provide him/her with all the information required to complete the online application as well as the necessary documents.
・　 If your supervisor will not be available during the application period, please try to obtain Letter of Request in advance. If this is not possible, with your supervisor’s permission, you may submit a letter from a substitute professor (this must be a member of the teaching staff, and not a secretary or member of the office staff).
